My granny taught us how to make dumplings and today my uncle bought the ingredients and another round of making for me !! LOL..

I don’t really know whether I should consider it a success or not - but I aimed to get at least 100 e-mails of ‘despair’.
I got only 67!

So.. I’ll say.. almost successful?

With that said… the forums are back up and in business.
Unlike the other posts, I want to keep this as short as I can. This blog needs to go back to what it was originally intended to be. So major announcements on forums… really important ones on the blog and forums.

Starting today, you’ll see a variety of stuff on this blog - from quite a few authors

Hi everyone

Really sorry for the long absence. I know after almost 1-week of not showing up here, I should write up a long post, but time right now, does not permit me to do so.

Instead… I’ll just announce all the updates

Dman is finally free from his exams and I’ll be talking to him in a  couple minutes so we can begin with the MU downloader and then resume RP V3

Thanks a lot Pygo. I saw the concept design for MU Downloader and personally, I think it is nothing short of pure genius. You’re one of the most talented designers out there, and trust me, without you, our community would not be the way it is right now

The same goes for every dedicated member. Thanks for sticking around with me while RP has had to go through lots of trouble.

A couple personal life problems prevented me from doing any real work over the past week. But, that being said, I have some time on my hands now.

So..

- The forum comes back tonight.
- Blog posting/topics will be extended tonight.
- MU Downloader will be completed and functional by Wednesday or Thursday, at most (25th or 26th March, 2009).
- I’m still waiting on another server I ordered to move to.
- RP downloader will stay closed till we finish RP V3!
- RP V3 is more exciting then you can even imagine!
- We’ll bring back the Megavideo downloader team (if you remember, we need all the financial help we can get, now, again!)
- There’s a few more exciting stuff. More will be announced in the forum.
- Forum layout and categories will be changed/adjusted. I’m thinking of incorporating warez downloads, etc too in the forum. Let me know what you think of it

I have to run off now. Have lots of comments to read (on the previous post), need to discuss stuff with Dman, and other miscellaneous preparations to make

Hey guys and girls

Yup.. I’ve been absent for some time. Had a very busy week with a lot of personal life problems as well as some legal stuff to take care of. I’ll try my best to keep this post as short as I can (though I bet I will not succeed) so happy reading

After a couple discussions and negotiations, some regular bitching about and some screaming, I’ve decided to open up the forums. The forums will be re-opened in a day or two (at most) and will stay up. The main page, I don’t really know what to do with. Will most probably be redirected to the forums.

The downloader area, will remain closed until further notice. You guys have a week or two more to download all the files that were in the private area. I am really sorry about not being able to provide you with what I’ve always stood for, but things are slightly out of my hand.

Another news (and faith, this will strike as good one for you, and for others too hopefully) is that me and DMan have decided to bring back the Megaupload Premium downloader back online in a week or two (at most, again). This time, it’ll be under a new domain, with a forum of its own, a points system of its own and a few other improvements.
Any legal matters on this one and the ‘legal parties’ can go to hell with them. I know what to do now

More on the news… Me and Dman have decided to keep the downloader closed. We all know and love RP. So we will NOT change the domain. Instead, we’ll use this legal stuff to our advantage and work on the V3 while the downloader is closed. That’ll give us a better chance to test stuff out and ’soft-launch’ it.
Once complete, we’ll re-open RP with the V3. So the next time you use RP, you’ll be using RP V3 with SO many features, they’ll blow you off!
And what’s the best news?
The system will be strictly private. Restricted only to the current RP members and any new ones will be an invite only basis. Even in that case, we’ll hand pick only the best and the most active members for the V3.
So, in short, we’ve laid out a plan (Dman and I had a long conversation the other day) that’ll probably end up knocking Rapidshare off (or so I hope)
The MU downloader cannot be released immediately because it still needs some work done on it. Once done, it’ll be released under a new domain, using the same concept design Pygo did for us (thanks Pygo). So in short, MU and RS downloader will be two independent services.
(We may or may not work on expanding the capabilities of MU after we’re done with RP V3)
Meanwhile, I’ve also been working on another innovative site idea. It does not have anything to do with downloading or warez, but it’ll be definitely a fun thing to play around with once I release it. So be on the lookout.
RapidW is/was not included in all the legal scuffle, surprisingly! So, it’ll live. Strong!

This blog, will also live strong. And we’ll go ahead with our ideas of combined posting. I’ve yet to grant the posting permissions to all those who were interested

With that said, just thought I’d announce this; though it is a future plan, we have some really cool stuff planned out for the community and everyone who believes in the word ‘free’

Right.. so chances are, you probably followed the link on the home page or on the forum and came here.

Yup, correct. And this is the post you should read. Instead of working silently on all of this, I might as well share everything with my members.

Over the past few days I’ve been talking to a few ‘legal authorities’ that have had problems against RP. I am not going to mention any names here, rather let you know what’s going on.

Apparently, they do not like the system, entirely. I’ve received a few legal threats and while I’ve ignored the threats I’ve responded to the legal queries. They want me to either shut down RP, or at least cease the ‘download’ service and turn RP into something else.

The dedicated server RP is on, is mine, so no one’s pushing me out for the time being. But if things go at the pace they are, stuff could get a lot more complicated.

Their argument is that my ’service’ encourages piracy. I don’t doubt that, and I don’t really care. But RP is a popular website. And when a website is popular, you’re bound to get attention from people you’d rather avoid.

So… for the time being.. here’s my decision:

“Effective this post, RP will be shutting down the downloader area permanently. I know this will come as a shock to a lot of people. To all the dedicated members, to DMan, and other potential members. But, this situation, unfortunately, is not entirely in my hands. Rather than being forced to completely shut down, I figure it’d be better to take the steps myself.
With all the new features and RPv3 we planned, I know we all had great plans. But for the time being, those plans are on hold.
Who knows, a replica of RP may come around and continue the legacy that RP itself is leaving behind”

I cannot state anything at this point, nor make any conclusions. But I’ll tell you this
- This is not where I’ll stop! I’ll let things die down a bit, and then (to avoid potential problems, I will most likely bring everything back up under a different domain, a different server, and complete with the v3 you always wanted to see)

Meanwhile, I’ll need suggestions from everyone here. With the actual downloader gone, and the traffic I’m getting, I need to turn RP into something different. I need suggestions from you guys, my dedicated members

I’ve been thinking of the following possibilities:
- Warez Forum (again, there’s legal matters involved, so fat chances)
- Some other service or general forum
- Your ideas?

Like I said, I am really sorry to have to do all this. It’s come as a shock to me too. But, I can’t really help it

Yup.. no more monkeys or apples.

Server transfer was a success (a huge success, tbh) and we’re back in business. The forums are up, and the same goes for the main website, etc.

Currently working on getting the public downloader up too. Hope to get it done by tonight, provided everything goes fine.

So, feel free to test out the new server, the speeds, etc. I am not really sure what speeds you should expect, but they’ll either be better than, or at least equal to the previous server.

Browsing on RP should also be better, because we’re hosted on 8GB RAM now (as opposed to 2GB)

The blog will also be seeing lots of new posts from different categories, etc. So there will be something for everyone.
The contest is still on schedule, ready to roll as planned.

More power to RP. And believe me when I say this, the new servers are just the start of RP v3!
